The VanishingLines is the brainchild of Ian Smith, ably assisted by Stephen Lawrie (Telescopes) and Jake Taylor. ‘No Replacement Found’ is the debut album, a brooding drone masterpiece recorded at The Kingdom of Heaven in deepest, darkest Shropshire, England. These are not so much ‘songs’ as feelings. Each piece is drowned in feedback and repetition, subtle nuances leap out at every listen providing space and claustrophobia in equal measures.
