San Tropez was formed in January 2018 by old friends that have been playing music together and in different bands around the New Brunswick, NJ area since the 1990s. Their combined love for shoegaze, dream pop, and indie rock was the guiding force behind their debut full-length record, Maybe Tomorrow. The sonic soul of bands like Slowdive, Ride, A.R. Kane, Galaxie 500, and Lilys helped craft the core of the record’s American dream pop/stoner-pop sound.
